Come and play or just watch! This event is for everyone with or without a disability. All equipment will be provided. Participants will be required to sign a waiver from Risk Management.

University Accessibility Lab Open House

Tuesday, October 22
This event is for all UAC clients and invited guests. Come and check out the new University Accessibility Lab and the Accessible Book Creations area. You will be able to meet the UAC and Accessible Book Creations staff and learn about the technologies we have available.

Stars of the Pharaohs—Free Show with ASL

Wednesday, October 23
Travel to ancient Egypt to see how science was used to tell time, make a workable calendar, and align huge buildings. You'll learn about the connection the ancient Egyptians felt with the stars and various astronomical phenomena. You'll see some of the most spectacular temples and tombs of the ancient world recreated in their original splendor. The film will be shown with an ASL interpretation. Please be on time, no late entries will be allowed. Following the film, enjoy a brief demonstration of how individuals who are blind can learn the constellations.

The Greatest Showman—FREE!

Wednesday, October 23
Free movie and circus treats! Come and enjoy The Greatest Showman, a musical about not listening to people who want to hold you back and not being afraid of your differences but instead embracing them as amazing qualities that you should be proud of. The movie is being shown with audio descriptive narrative for individuals who are vision impaired and captioning for individuals who are hearing impaired.

Y-Serve Adaptive Aquatics/Gym Kids—Service Project

Hop in the pool or play around in the gym with children with special needs from local elementary schools to help them develop their cognitive, motor, and social skills. Help them increase their creativity and develop autonomy by doing what they want to do. Join us especially on the 25th, but you are also welcome to join us weekly.

Y-Serve BYU Experience—Service Project

Friday, October 25
The BYU Experience is a program that invites college-age or older individuals with cognitive and intellectual disabilities to come to campus for a night of “college experience.” Many individuals do not have the opportunity to come to college, so we provide a night where they can hang out and make friends with BYU students. Activities will include: Carnival games, performances, ice cream, and karaoke. Halloween costumes are highly encouraged!
